Genderqueer singer King Princess whose great-great-grandparents died onboard the Titanic has been slammed for laughing on TikTok in a video mocking the Titan sub victims.

The 24-year-old singer, real name Mikaela Mullaney Straus, is the great-great-granddaughter of Macy's co-owner Isidor and Ida Straus.

Her relatives were aboard the Titanic when it sank and in a bizarre twist she is also distantly related to the wife of OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.

Rush was one of the five men on board when the Titan submersible imploded on an expedition to the wreck of the Titanic earlier this week.

In her now deleted TikTok, the singer said: 'Like, look at my f****** family, right? Who wants to take a boat across the ocean? That sounds terrible. But they did it because they had the money to, and they died.'

'So now these people are like, "Oh, I have so much money, oh my god, I just want to go to the inhabitable depths of the ocean, in a GameCube?" No. Dead. Sorry.

'Oh, and rich people are not exempt from making really stupid decisions, obviously.

'Why do rich people go to space? You don't need to be there. You're not a f****** scientist. Because they make terrible decisions, constantly. I hate this world.

'One more thing: The sheer irony of these billionaires going down to visit the gravesite of other billionaires  and then dying, is so crazy to me. Anybody else feel this way?'

The 24-year-old then bursts into laughter just as the video ends.

The daughter of OIiver Straus Jr and Agnes Mullaney, her father owns and operates the successful Mission Sound recording studio in Brooklyn, New York.

On social media, the singer songwriter was slammed for her remarks with others pointing to her rich family who passed.

One person said: 'Bro your family owns Macy's, they are the bajillionaires.'

Another posted: 'The Macy's heiress being like "how do you do fellow proletariat".'

One person commented: 'But...aren't you??? Like??? Rich??????'

It comes after it was revealed the wife of OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, Wendy Rush had also been related to the Straus family.

Wendy Rush, born Wendy Hollings Weil, married engineer and entrepreneur Stockton Rush in 1986.

She is descended from Isidor and Ida Straus's daughter Minnie, who married Dr. Richard Weil in 1905.

Their son, Richard Weil Jr., later served as president of Macy's New York, and his son, Dr. Richard Weil III, is Wendy Rush's father, The New York Times reported.

Isidor and Ida were two of the wealthiest people onboard the Titanic when it sank to the bottom of the ocean during its maiden voyage - from Southampton, England to New York City - after striking an iceberg.

The couple had in real life visited their native Germany, and were travelling back to the United States on the Titanic with Ida's recently-appointed maid, Ellen Bird, and Isidor's manservant, John Farthing.

The were also immortalized in James Cameron's 1997 movie 'Titanic',  where they are shown in an iconic scene, fictionally embracing on their bed as water rushed onto the ship.

King Princess had previously spoken of her great-great grandparents, telling Rolling Stone: 'They were like, "We’re going to die together now." That's a crazy thing to say, a crunch time decision, and very my vibe.

'They were very rich and Jewish, [but] I didn't inherit any of this money. It was a little frustrating, but whatever.'

The submersible had been missing since 9.45am on Sunday morning after being launched into the Atlantic at 8am.

A full scale rescue mission was launched to recover the missing sub and crew after it disappeared 400 miles southeast of Newfoundland, Canada, as oxygen supplies in the sub continued to dwindle.

Yesterday it was announced that, despite the frantic search to find the sub and crew, they had all perished during the descent to the wreck of the Titanic.

'The implosion would have generated a significant, broadband sound that the sonar buoys would have picked up,' explained Rear Admiral John Mauger of the US Coast Guard at a press conference today.

It would have been an instant death for the men, some of whom had paid $250,000 each to see the famous shipwreck.

Onboard had been one of Pakistan's richest men, Shahzada Dawood, i alongside his son Suleman, British billionaire Hamish Harding, OceanGate chief executive Stockton Rush and French explorer Paul-Henry Nargeolet.

In a gut-wrenching blow for their families, experts say there is little prospect of recovering any of their remains.

'This is an incredibly unforgiving environment down there. The debris is consistent of a catastrophic implosion of the vessel.. we'll continue to work and search the area down there - but I don't have an answer for prospects at this time,' Paul Hankin, a deep sea expert involved in the search, said.
