Did Anyone Win the Powerball Jackpot on 9/8/2021? Numbers and Results
Wednesday's Powerball Jackpot was not won by any one player. Similarly, no one took home the second prize of $1 million, meaning there will be a pretty penny to take home on Sunday.
The third prize of $50,000 was won by 11 people, after which the prizes start at $100 and become steadily smaller for the many who matched at least one number with the Powerball.
As a result of no one taking home the main prize, the money will roll over to a pretty hefty sum of $409 million on Sunday.
As usual, the second prize is $1 million and the third prize is $50,000, while the other prizes are $100, $7 and $4 for those who manage to get one number and the Powerball.
The Powerball Jackpot Winning Numbers
The first five numbers were 09, 22, 41, 47 and 61, and the Powerball was 21. The Power Play was 2x, meaning those that play this draw can double their prize money.
Seven people won the third prize in the Power Play, meaning they each take home $100,000 as their $50,000 prize doubles.
As winners need all five numbers in order to win either the first and second prize, no one won the top two prizes in the Power Play either, which would have been the jackpot or $2 million.
The story was the same for the Monday night draw, which saw no one take home either of the top two prizes.
For Monday night's draw, the first five numbers were 11, 20, 22, 33 and 54, and the Powerball was 24. The Power Play was also 2x.
The Powerball may not be getting any jackpot winners at the moment, but at the beginning of the year the game gave away three jackpots in four draws, which was a huge amount of money.
An immense jackpot of $731.1 million was won in Maryland on January 20, before it was reset to $20 million and won just three days later.
On January 30, the jackpot was won again, meaning there can be winners in this game.
However, it is important to play the lottery responsibly.
The Powerball lottery says: "Never spend more than you can afford on any lottery product. Please remember, it's just a game."
